A couple suspected of dealing illegal drugs was arrested on Monday afternoon in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Bool, Tagbilaran City.

The apprehended alleged pushers were identified as live-in partners Rommuel Teruel, 38, and Quennie Casenas, 39, residents of Calceta St. Brgy. Cogon, Tagbilaran City.

According to Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar, chief of the city police, Casenas is listed in their watch list of drug personalities, but did not surrender to authorities through Oplan Tokhang.

Her continued alleged involvement in drug activities prompted the city police to conduct the buy-bust which also led to the arrest of Teruel.

Police said that Teruel sold suspected drugs worth P500 to a police posing as a buyer during the anti-drug operation.

The suspect reportedly sensed the ongoing buy-bust causing him to run from the operative, but he was immediately subdued by nearby police officers.

The authorities also apprehended Casenas who was in the buy-bust area and yielded 10 packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Teruel and Casenas are currently detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail while authorities are preparing to file drug charges against them.(Willy Maestrado)
