Operatives of the Tubigon police on Wednesday evening arrested through a buy bust operation a couple suspected of dealing illegal drugs.

The subject of the buy-bust, Mary Jane Donio, 22, was immediately arrested by police after she was caught red-handed selling suspected shabu worth P300 to an undercover cop.

Donio’s live-in partner Michael Bahinting, 28, who was with her during the operation, ran and attempted to escape arrest but was immediately subdued by operatives stationed around the buy-bust area.

Members of the Tubigon police said that they were able to seize packets of suspected shabu from both suspects.

Donio and Bahinting had recently been added by the Tubigon police in their watchlist of newly known drug personalities in the municipality.

Police also noted that Donio, a resident of Brgy. Calubijan of the said town, and Bahinting surrendered together through Oplan Tokhang.

However, the two reportedly continued to sell illegal drugs.

Authorities are preparing to file charges against Donio for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, while a case for violating Section 11 Article II of RA 9165 will be filed against Bahinting.

The two suspects are the third alleged drug couple arrested in the month of August.

In Getafe, authorities arrested Consorcia “Siang” Secretaria and live-in partner Japeth Estorgio also in a buy-bust conducted in the island-barangay of Banacon on August 2, 2016.

Secretaria is the aunt of slain alleged Central Visayas drug lord Rowen “Yawa” Secretaria. (Allen Doydora)
