Boholano movie actor Cesar Montano was sworn yesterday as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) which is the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT).
He was officially sworn in by DOT Secretary Wanda Teo at the agency’s office in Manila.
Montano, during a phone interview with the Chronicle, vowed to help Bohol in its tourism programs being one of the prime tourist destinations in the country.
His appointment paper was signed by Pres. Duterte.
He was given the special task in the preparation for the hosting of the Miss Universe in Manila Jan 30 next year. Â Â Being in the film industry, Montano is expected to further promote the Philippines as a destination.
Montano succeeds  Ramon “Chickoy” Enerio III, who is also a Boholano.
Gov. Edgar Chatto was the first to send congratulatory message to Montano few hours after his oath taking yesterday.
