Drug haul seized in Bohol in a two-day span rose to P778,000 after 20 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P236,000 were confiscated in Tagbilaran City on Friday afternoon.

The latest seized drugs were confiscated by Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) operatives of the Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) from drug suspect John Dote near his residence in Pelias Street, Brgy. Taloto at 4:30 pm.

Policemen under the supervision of TCPS chief Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar arrested Dote through a buy-bust operation which was set up after receiving reports on the suspect’s continued sale of illegal drugs.

According to PO3 Gary Labial of the TCPS, Dote previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang but did not end involvement in illegal drug activities.

Labial said that charges for sale and possession of illegal drugs will be filed against Dote who is now detained at the TCPS lock-up jail.

On Thursday, two drug suspects including one suspected big-time drug dealer in Tagbilaran City identified as Elcid Sepe allegedly yielded 56 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P542,000 in separate anti-drug operations.

Sepe, 22, was arrested by police operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch in  Barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City also through a sting operation which was carried out 4:40 p.m.

According to P/Sr. Insp. Jojit Manangil of the PIB, the 40 grams of shabu confiscated from Sepe were sourced from provinces in Mindanao based on intelligence reports gathered by the police unit.

Prior to Sepe’s arrest, the PIB collared Michael Padilla, a 28-year-old resident of Barangay Cangguining, Baclayon in a buy-bust operation at 2:40 p.m.

Manangil said that the operatives were able to seize 16 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P70,000 from Padilla.
