Sec. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Administrator, Engr. Florencio Padernal of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA)Â will be arriving here today as guests during the inauguration of the NIA Training Center in Dao, this city.
The event will be the highlight of today’s observance of the 6th anniversary celebration of NIA-7 under the stewardship of acting Regional Director Mario Sande.
The program banners the theme “NIA-LGU-IA Magkaagapay Para sa Ikauunlad ng Buhay.”
Gov. Edgar Chatto as well as Rep. Rene Relampagos, Rep. Aris Aumentado and Rep., Arthur Yap together with City Mayor Baba Yap will be gracing the affair at 8 o’clock this morning.
Pangilinan and Padernal will be hosted by Gov. Chatto in a breakfast at the Governor’s Mansion upon their arrival from Manila.
Sec. Pangilian of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization (OPAFSAM) and Administrator Padernal will be arriving this morning from Manila in time for the affair,
Director Sande who will welcome the VIPs told The Chronicle that the regional offices based in the province takes pride that Bohol has proven itself as a self-sufficient province as it has a total of 24,150 hc. of service area which tops in Central Visayas. The entire region has a total serviceable area of 46,596 hc, with Bohol topping followed by Negros Or. at 14,492 hc., Cebu 7,309 hc and Siquijor with 645 hc.
