Bohol will once again be the host recipient of another Heart Surgical Mission outside Metro Manila scheduled on July 18-25, 2015 at the Borja Family Hospital under Medical Director, Dr. Melinda R. Borja; Hospital Administrator, Dr. Mia Borja-Chiong and Director, Dr. Jose G. Borja.

The mission is funded and sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office under PCSO Chairman & General Manager, Hon. Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II; Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector, Dr. Larry R. Cedro and its Bohol Branch Manager, Roberto Pio C. Cinco.

The surgical mission is supported by the Provincial Government of Bohol under Gov. Edgar M. Chatto; Vice Governor Concepcion O. Lim, MD; SP Health Committee Chairman, Kag. Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, MD  and Provincial Administrator, Alfonso R. Damalerio II.

Coordinating the mission is the Philippine Gift of Life Foundation under Chairman, Dr. Ramie A. Cadag; President/CEO, Mrs. Fancy S. Baluyot and Vice President, Rev. Fr. Victor G. Bompat supported by the City Government of Tagbilaran under City Mayor John Geesnell L. Yap II; Vice Mayor Jose Antonio S. Veloso and City Administrator, Leonides L. Borja; Department of Health under DOH Secretary, Janette L. Garin and Undersecretary, Elmer G. Punzalan; Rotary Club of Tagbilaran under its president, Atty. Nerio D. Zamora II and Assistant Governor, Engr. Victor J. Bantol.

This will be the eight times that a joint surgical-medical team from the PhilippineHeart Center and Heart Foundation of the Philippines spearheaded and headed by its president, Dr. Ludgerio Torres, a thoracic surgeon together with cardiologist, Dr. Kazan S. Baluyot will be performing free surgeries to indigent patient beneficiaries ably supported by Gift of Life volunteer physicians from USA.

This life-saving surgical mission will highlight the month-long Bohol Sandugo festivities, 161st Bohol Day and 49thTagbilaran City Charter Day celebrations as well as this year’s TigumBol-anon TibuokKalibutan (TBTK) Homecoming – a gathering of all Boholanos around the world.

Mrs. Fancy S. Baluyot who is both the Consultant on Gov. Chatto’s Surgical & Medical Missions andTagbilaran City Health Services & Programs further relayed that the surgical cases to be operated are Atrial Septal Defect (ASD); Atrio Ventricular Repair / Replacement (AVR); Mitral-Aortic Valve Repair / Replacement (MAVR); Mitral Valve Repair / Replacement – Tricuspid Valve Annulus (MVR/TVA); Patent DuctusArteriosus (PDA); Tetralogy of Fallot – Patent Foramen Ovale (TOF-PFO) and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).

The multi-million worth heart surgery equipments from the Philippine Heart Center will be shipped here from Manila aboard a chartered flight of the Philippine Air Force C-130 plane thru Armed Forces of the Philippine (AFP) Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Gregorio Pio P. Catapang and Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop & Philippine Gift of Life Foundation Adviser, Most Rev. Leopoldo S. Tumulak, D.D.

    Good Day! I am Althea Gatus from Kalibo, Aklan and I have read about the Heart Surgical Mission that you will facilitate this up coming July in Tagbilaran, Bohol. It is a good program which gives hope to those patients with heart ailments.

    I have a nephew named Jai Thenshee Mata who is now 11 years old and he lives with me here in Aklan. He was diagnosed with CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT- Ventricular Septal Defect few weeks after birth.

    I would like to ask for your assistance if there’s any possibility that my nephew can avail the services you offered in Heart Surgical Mission.
