Boholanos especially those seeking employment and renewing their respective licenses and needing important certificates have expressed great appreciation for all the efforts being done by the Provincial Government through its Bohol Employment and Placement Office (BEPO).Â
Gov. Edgar M. Chatto got wind of reports that more requests are coming in for the holding of job fairs in the province and the conduct of mobile services “for these are of great help for those who lack the means to go to other provinces and national offices just to get hired or have their licenses renewed and important certificates released.â€
The recently concluded job fairs in Talibon and in the City of Tagbilaran got very positive results wherein 53 local and overseas recruitment agencies participated in the activities.
For the 26,510 vacancies, 2053 applicants were interviewed and 283 were hired on the spot (HOTS), a requirement fully implemented by both the Provincial Government and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Vilma Yorong, Provincial PESO Manager and BEPO OIC, provided Gov. Chatto with all the data and reported very positive feedbacks from participating Boholanos.
Just last Friday, May 15, BEPO again held a very successful Mobile Services Day participated in by the National Statistics Office (NSO), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Meanwhile, NSO Interim Provincial Statistics Officer Jessamyn Anne Alcazaren sent a letter to the governor dated April 30, 2015, informing the latter of their office’s upcoming 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015).
The grand undertaking aims to generate statistics on the socio-economic and demographic characteristics of the population and important housing variables.
Such data shall be used as bases in the formulation of development plans and programs and in the allocation of resources at various geographic levels.
In addition to this, the Philippine Statistics Authority will recruit and hire field interviewers who will facilitate in the conduct of quality house-to-house interviews preferably at their own barangays whom they are more familiar with the area, people and terrain.
Qualifying examination and personal interviews will be conducted anytime in May or June to compose the list of official field interviews for the province.
Training will be in July in two batches and enumeration will commence n August 1, 2015.
For a detailed list of the qualifications of the 2015 Census of Population Enumerators, prospective applicants are advised to inquire at the BEPO and NSO offices or at their respective barangays or PESO offices.
