Another expat ended up in the hands of authorities here after two years of hiding in Misamis Oriental.
PO3 Edelbert Gacita of Jasaan Police Station in Misamis Oriental identified the arrested person as Mohammed Abdalla Alnaqbi, a 55-year-old UAE national who had stayed at Graham Avenue in Tagbilaran City.
The Jasaan police team, led by Gacita and PO3 Edgar Ellevera, arrested Alnaqbi at around 11 a.m. on July 29 at a residence in barangay Aplaya, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental based on a Warrant of Arrest issued by Presiding Judge Fernandro Fuentes III of RTC-Bohol Branch 49 in Tagbilaran City for a criminal case of estafa and an alias warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Jenefer Chavez-Marcos of RTC Branch 2 in Tagbilaran City.
Fuentes issued the warrant of arrest against Alnaqbi on April 15, 2013 with a recommended bail bond of P16,000 for the estafa case, while Chavez-Marcos issued the alias warrant of arrest on February 11, 2014 with recommended cash bail bond of P12,000 for the violation of Comelec gun ban.
Alnaqbi is also charged of violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 6 for possession of bladed weapon with warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Laebeth Marquez of the NTCC Branch I issued on July 31, 2013 with recommended bail bond of P2,000.
The Jasaan police team turned over the arrested person to the Tagbilaran City police station where he was temporarily detained while waiting for the schedule for him to remanded to the courts where he has been charged of different cases.
