With less than a week to go, everything is set for the grand opening of the UB Days 2015 celebration scheduled on September 11 to 18, 2015. This according to Dr. Janice Aurora B. Tirol, Dean of Student Personnel Service and Dr. Lemuel O. Belarmino, Head of Student Affairs Office.
Bannering the theme, Breaking Boundaries: Unfolding great potentials through sports and arts, the week long festivities will feature various athletics and sports competitions, literary, musical and dance contests, and the search for Mr. and Miss UB Personality 2015. As an opening salvo, the celebration will kick off with an early morning fitness activity among students and employees. At 8:00 o’clock a.m., a motorcade around Tagbilaran City’s main thoroughfares will take place which will be followed by the presentation of sponsors of the UB ROTC unit. Two acrobatic show performances are also set to entertain separately the college students and the basic education pupils. During the opening program in the afternoon, Atty. Nuevas T. Montes, University of Bohol President will officially declare the formal start of this year’s college days’ celebration. This will be followed by field demonstration, live band entertainment and rock/pop band competition.
Other schedule of activities are as follows: September 12 – athletic competition, mega dance crew and lyrical hip-hop competition; September 14 – athletic competition, battle of the brains, Tirol medals, debate and Mr. & Miss UB Personality Talent Night; September 15 – athletic competition, afternoon of music and cultural dance and dance sports competition; September 16 – athletic competition and Mr. & Miss UB rehearsal; September 17 – championship games and Mr. & Miss UB Pageant Night; September 18 – street parade, awarding ceremony and UBarkadahan Night.
Like in the previous years, the event is a joint undertaking of the university and the UB Supreme Student Government. (labbonccales)
