The three official entries of University of Bohol College of Engineering and Technology have landed among the  top ten winning ideas during the Bohol Idea to Contextualized Innovation (BHL iZi) Competition held on October 5-6, 2015 at the Bohol Cultural Center this city.
UB’s winning ideas are BantayPalaycontextualized by Norma Jumawid-Apao, Victor Jon Anunciado, AngeliePagay and LiduvinaNamocatcat, Heat LaptopCharger by JesonBaguin, Florante Robin and Jo Anne Socong, and Pleteby Marian NicholeeMiflores, ReymartSoria and Daniel Bernales.
The entries are focused on providing solutions to local problems by means of technology, preferably using digital fabrication and are technically viable and has market potential. Along with other topnotchers, the three winning entries, will qualify for the next stage and will be supported in the prototype and product development. Support includes technical assistance, provision of materials and free use of Fablab machine and facilities.
As an added feature , entries are entitled to product co-creation process with Japanese mentors before the presentation of the final prototype for judging. Teams will have the chance to further improve their prototypes through knowledge and technical expertise sharing from Japanese counterparts.
The final presentation of the prototypes will be on January 2016 after the meet-up with the Japanese mentors.
