Everyone of us desire basic joy in our lives. We like to eat because tasty food brings joy. We enjoy
money because of the things it can buy. Many seek fame, power and knowledge for they believed they will bring joy.
But in all reality such joys are passing and disappointing. Have you noticed that the feeling you sense after viewing a sporting event, watching a movie, coming home with a big purchase, or even enjoying Christmas, is never quite as forcefulas the anticipation was?
We ask ourselves where can we find real and lasting joy? Have we missed something?
The Bible said we are created to become like Him. God said, “If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love.â€
Our creator wants to give us complete satisfaction. He said, “I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.â€
Genuinejoy comes only when we find Jesus Christ. He is the perfect gift that God has given to us.
The common tune, “Joy to the world, the Lord has come,†“Hark the herald angels sing, glory to the newborn King,†captures the wistful mood of longing, aching, yearning, hoping.
May we find the true source of joy found in believing the Christ of Christmas.
