The Commission on Elections here also started tearing down campaign materials posted outside the common posting areas
Provincial Election Supervisor Eliseo Labaria said the Philippine National Police and DWPH fielded teams who tore down campaign materials of national and local candidates that were placed outside the designated areas starting yesterday.
This came in time of the official start of the campaign period for national candidates, while the campaign period for local candidates starts on March 26.
National candidates include those running for president, vice president, senator, and partylist groups, while local candidates are those running for governor, vice governor, congressman, mayor, vice mayor, provincial board members, and councilors in cities and municipalities.
In Tagbilaran City, the common poster areas are designated around the barangay halls. In Booy, it includes the basketball court vicinity; in Cogon, it includes the public market; in Dampas, the vicinity of the health center and basketball court and in Dao, the vacant lot between Dao Public Market and ICM, the basketball court and health center.
In Mansasa it includes the basketball court area; in Poblacion II, the area around the City Square; in San Isidro, the health center and basketball court; in Taloto, the vacant lot beside the barangay hall and the corner at Talisay road in sitio Basak; in Tiptip, the area in front of the barangay hall and around the basketball court and in Ubujan, the area around the basketball court.
Meanwhile, Sebastian Duterte, the son of PDP-Laban standard-bearer–Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, on Monday represented his father in the inauguration of the PDP-Laban headquarters in Bohol located near the port area in Tagbilaran City.
Duterte’s son visited DYRD-AM on Monday; together with the party’s candidate for provincial board member in first district, Donald Sevilla, where they were interviewed over DYRD Inyong Alagad public affairs program.
For his part, Dr. Doloreich Dumaluan—the party’s mayoralty candidate in Panglao, said PDP-Laban stalwarts in Bohol joined the national campaign launch of the party in Tondo, Manila yesterday.
Dumaluan, is the provincial chair of PDP-Laban in Bohol.
Before the official proclamation rally for Duterte in Tondo, all new officials of the party took oath wherein Duterte took over as the national chairman.
Dumaluan also took his oath as the vice president of PDP Laban for the Visayas.
He also explained that Duterte chose to launch his national campaign in Tondo where many of the residents comprise of the common tao from other provinces.
