A drug group slipped in thinking it smart to utilize rooms in inns for a drug den.

The National Bureau of Investigation in Bohol proved the drug ring is no smarter with the arrest of two of its main runners in a recent operation.

The rest in the drug ring and their patrons might be next, if they continue with their activities even in clandestine pot sessions.

The operation on March 16 at 3A Travellers Inn along B. Inting Ext. in Barangay Cogon, this city resulted to the arrest of the drug ring’s two members, identified as one Yancy Goloso and Mark Joseph Abuyabor, both residents of Tagbilaran City.

Charges of violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have already been filed against them.

Their arrest came through the vigilance of concerned citizens who reported a suspicious activity in at least three rooms in the inn on March 16.

In the information received by the NBI team, an unidentified drug group was having a drug repacking, pot session, and distribution in hotel or motel rooms as their safe haven.

The NBI further verified that the group used at least three rooms of 3A Traveller’s Inn, particularly Room 3A3, Room 3A11 and 3A12.

Different personalities had allegedly been coming in and out of the rooms.

According to informants, the group uses motorcycles and four-wheel vehicles to fast track their illegal drug transactions in the area.

Acting on the information, the NBI conducted a surveillance operation at 2 p.m. on March 16 wherein it was verified and confirmed that a suspicious activity was going on—some individuals, indeed, came in and out of the rooms.

At around 5 p.m. on the same day, the NBI Bohol team swooped down the area, in tandem with intelligence operatives of Tagbilaran Police Station and in coordination with PDEA-Bohol.

With the consent of the establishment’s management, the NBI and city police personnel knocked on the three rooms and they caught illegal activities in two of the rooms.

The operation was conducted in the presence of barangay officials of Cogon and representatives from media and the Department of Justice.

Based on intelligence report, the drug ring conduct their illegal activities in conduct their illegal activities in hotel or motel rooms, thinking it would be the safest place to avoid detection from law.

The drug ring thought it would be easier to repack and distribute shabu in hotel or motel rooms enforcers, since it is not a crowded place and no one might notice them.

However, the NBI proved them wrong with the vigilance of concerned citizens.
