Though expected to be a one-sided as well as a peaceful election in the city, there will still be a Peace Covenant signing of candidates in the city for the May 9 election.
The signing of the Peace Covenant will be at the St. Joseph Cathedral at 5 o’clock tomorrow afternoon.
The three mayoralty bets in the city, re-electionist Mayor Baba Yap, Barangay Captain Arlene Karaan and former City Councilor Edgar Kapirig are expected to lead in the covenant signing together with vice mayoralty bets, re-electionist Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso and Dr. Alfred Hontanosas.
Yap and Veloso are running under Liberal Party (LP) while the rest are independent bets.
There are 18 bets for city councilors in the city vying for the 10-seat Sangguniang Panlungsod, namely, Kagawad Phillip Besas, Kagawad Joseph Bompat, Eliezer Borja, Jonas Cacho, Greggy Gatal, Kagawad Dulce Glovasa, Kagawad Agustinus Gonzaga, Kagawad Adam Jala, Shaene Karaan, Kagawad Lucille Lagunay, Kagawad Jermias Pabe, Agalon Polinar, Pat Ruiz, Barangay Captain Leda Saco, Toto Siason, Jun Telmo, Kagawad Alberta Torralba and Beboth Torralba.
