A colorful pageant comparable to beauty tilts in the country’s major cities will be staged tonight to pick the city’s prettiest to become this year’s Mutya sa Tagbilaran.
The Grand Coronation Night which will start at 8pm at the Bohol Wisdom Gymnasium is themed “Beauty through Ages, Empowered Women through Contemporary times”. The pageant drumbeats Tagbilaran City’s 50th Charter Day this year while this is part of “Saulog Tagbilaran.”
Vying for the coveted crown are Leslie May Ranario of Tiptip, Mykee Alanis Tuyor of Poblacion 2, Michelle Juguan of Dampas, Christine Jay Ancog of Dao, Maygan Joyce Besa of Bool, Monica Gomez of Mansasa, Natalie Belle McGaw of Cogon, Melody Sanchez of Poblacion 3, Perlie Jeverola of Booy, Queenebeth Barcelona of Manga, Mary Ia Rene Lagrada of San Isidro, Lady Grace Manolong of Cabawan, Jasmine Jaeckel of Taloto, Jonalyn Melleza of Poblacion 1 and Erika Sofia Karcher of Ubujan.
The finalists of the Mutya sa Tagbilaran will be performing the “End of Time†by Beyonce for their production number.
The distinguished panel of judges led by Jonas Gaffud, Cary Santiago, Liz Uy, Sarah Lahbati, Daiana Meneses, Mr. International Reniel Villareal, Dr. Pamphi Padayhag, Asi Taulava, Balilihan Mayor Pureza Veloso Chatto, Binibining Pilipinas titleholders Bianca Manalo, Yvethe Marie Santiago, Rogielie Catacutan, and Janicel Lubina will be at the forefront to decide who the winner will be.
Renowned Eventologist Tim Yap and Miss Earth 2008 Karla Henry will be the hosts for tonight’s pageant.
As a fitting tribute, the occasion will witness the past winners of Mutya and Miss Tagbilaran.
Mutya Chair, Ms. Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap, believes that these ladies have become the best versions of themselves through the passing of time. A classical ballet performance from the Halili-Cruz School of Ballet will be seen in tonight’s pageant.
Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2015 and reigning Miss Bohol, Mary Eda Cimafranca will also be there.
The production team of the Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2016 is headed by City Events, Culture, Arts, and Tourism Coordinator Joseph Alexis Cadeliña.
