A sustained police surveillance on suspected drug pushers ended with the arrest of Jojo Membreve in a police drug operation that took place 9:30 this morning, Monday, May 2, 2016 at J. Borja St., Barangay Poblacion ll, Tagbilaran City
Tagged by police intelligence as part of a drug syndicate operating in the province, Membreve is known to have close ties with alleged “drug queen” Maida Jabines who is now detained at the Bohol Provincial Police Office detention facility in Camp Dagohol, Tagbilaran City.
Jabines was arrested following a successful drug operation that led to the seizure of more than two kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P29 million.
According to initial police reports, Membreve who broke ties with Jabines and went solo was arrested on the strength of a search warrant issued by Branch 47 Executive Judge Suceso Arcamo.
Caught in a room with 5 small packs of suspected shabu estimated to weight at seven grams, Membreve did not resist arrest.
Membreve who hails from Buenavista, Bohol was arrested in one of the rooms in a house reportedly owned by a certain Lucrino Estorosa who could not tell the police the circumstances of the presence of the drug suspect in his house.
Police authorities are now undergoing a deeper probe on Membreve’s drug operations which police believes involved a bigger syndicate since Membreve has been suspected of supplying shabu to the neighboring towns of the city. (Chito M. Visarra with reports from Rey Tutas)
