A suspect has finally been tagged as the possible perpetrator of the brutal killing of Joyce Jabines inside her boarding house at M.H. Del Pilar corner Galleres St., Tagbilaran City on April 19, 2016, the Tagbilaran City Police said.
Tagbilaran police chief Superintendent George Vale revealed the development in an exclusive interview on DYRD’s Tagbilaran by Night program.
Vale however did not disclose more details on the suspect to avoid muddling or jeopardizing the ongoing investigation as the Police moves to apprehend the said suspect.
The police chief also did not reveal if the murder suspect was alone or accompanied by a companion or a group in brutally killing Jabines.
Vale assured the public that the police will relentlessly go after the suspect until brought in to face charges and give justice to the victim’s family.
Meanwhile, the city PNP will go over the autopsy report of Jabines’ body again to confirm if she was raped before she was killed.
The initial report indicated that there was a laceration or wound in the victim’s private area, one of the signs of forced intercourse.
However, an official report noting that the victim was raped has not been declared by experts who examined the body before it was buried on April 28,2016 in the town of Antequera.
According to Vale he personally led the move to have Jabines’ body autopsied so results may help the police’s investigation in finding out the suspect’s motive in killing Jabines. (with reports from Allen Doydora)
