Drug users believed to be flushed with election money started flocking to a house where a fish vendor moonlighting as a drug pusher caused alarm to local residents who immediately called the attention of police authorities.
The suspect, Felver Gonzalez, 32, single was arrested on the strength of a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 50 Presiding Judge Dionisio Calibo, Jr.
Gozalez was arrested by police during a raid conducted by an eight-man team of the Municipal Anti-Illegal Drug Special Task Group (MAIDSTOG) led by Lila Police Chief, Police Senior Inspector Ildefonso Miranda Jr. in Purok 3, Barangay Taug, Lila.
Police swooped on the house of Gonzales at 9AM and seized two medium packs and three small sachets containing suspected shabu including drug paraphernalia found on top of a table inside the room of the suspect.
The raid, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is part of an ongoing operation targeting organized crime and drug dealing in Lila.
Gonzalez is now detained at the Lila lock-up jail and will be facing charges for violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act No. 9165 known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002”. (Chito M. Visarra with reports from Rey Tutas)
