Your Roving Eye is in the bustling town of Tubigon as you are reading The Bohol Chronicle this very moment. You see, it’s the town fiesta in honor of St. Isidore the Farmer and the municipality has so much to be thankful for. Tonight is also the grand finale for Anyag sa Tubigon 2016, considered as the most glamorous highlight of the fiesta celebration.

Now on its eight edition since its launching, Anyag sa Tubigon is now considered as Bohol’s breeding ground for the province’s celebrated beauty queens. Since 2010 when Tubigon began sending representatives to the annual Miss Bohol Pageant, the town’s bets have been making the Top Five without fail save for 2013 when their bet didn’t push through with her participation. Tubigon also achieved a rare back-to-back triumph with Amir Sol 2010 and Farah Mian 2011

So what’s the secret for their remarkable success rate in Miss Bohol?  According to Dennis Balbero & Jason Martinote, the Anyag sa Tubigon Pageant gives the official candidates several seminars and workshops, some intended to enhance their physical beauty while others are conducted to develop their character and values. They are also exposed to different activities such as eco-tours and tree planting to instill in them a love of nature and concern for the environment. Moreover, these candidates are made to attend social functions such as company visits to hone their confidence in dealing with other people. The pageant organizers also devote a year to groom, train & polish their winners before they are fielded in the province- wide pageant.

The reigning Anyag sa Tubigon 2015 Jean Olive Zoilo is the town’s official bet for Miss Bohol this year. When interviewed by Your Roving Eye, the 20 year old Jean who recently acquired her BS Accountancy degree admitted to feeling the pressure but she is more than ready to carry her town’s banner this July.

Tonight’s pageant is expected to be another spectacular show with its huge tri- LED wall that will focus the spotlight not only on the 12 fabulous finalists but also on its rich & magnificent aquatic resources.  oFrom the enchanting heights, down to the splendiferous charm!

Meanwhile, Francis Villaver Lerin, 17 years old, was selected last Friday night as the most dashing and dapper among Tubigon’s young gentlemen during the conclusion of the Ambongan sa Tubigon 2016 Search. The 5’ 8” aspiring model is a BS Aircraft Maintenance student of Philippine State College, Lapulapu City. Runners up were Jeffril Señal 1^st RU and Ralf Ralf P. Camacho 2^nd RU.
