Even on a Sunday, continuing drug operations by police collared five drug personalities that led to the seizure of twenty two packets of shabu in Tagbilaran City and the municipality of Panglao.
Three buy bust operations were conducted on Sunday, May 29, 2016 – two in Panglao conducted by the Panglao Police Station and one in Tagbilaran City by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Police successfully caught Rolando Guibone, 46 and Ian Estoquia, 27 both single and residents of Barangay Poblacion Panglao in a buy bust operation on Sunday, 3:40PM right at the beach front of the white sandy beach of Alona.
Guibone was nabbed after a police poseur buyer received one sachet of shabu in exchange for P500 marked money.
According to police Guibone was under surveillance for peddling shabu to foreigners at Alona beach, a famous tourist hub in Panglao lined with restaurants, bars and hotels.
Guibone attempted a run towards his nearby residence but was overtaken by the police. Searched, the suspect was in possession of two medium sized sachets and 13 small packets of shabu.
Estoquia, who was in the vicinity of the drug bust operation was spotted by the police acting suspicious, Confronted and frisked by the police, Estoquia was found in possession of one sachet of shabu.
Guibone was slapped with a case for violation of section five and Estoquia for violation of section eleven article ll of RA 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Later in the evening, at 9:30PM a certain Anthony Clenuar, 34, single and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, was arrested in another buy bust operation in an abandoned house in Barangay Bolod.
Clenuar was trapped by a police poseur buyer selling one sachet of shabu in exchange for P500 marked bill but was later found in his possession another two medium sized packets of shabu.
Clenuar attempted to pull a 38 caliber “paltik”, an illegally homemade gun but was overwhelmed by the police. The handgun was loaded with six bullets.
Police Senior Inspector Jomar Pomarejos, Panglao Police Chief told DYRD Balita that Clenuar was on the watch list of notorious drug personality in Panglao.
Charges are being readied against Clenuar for violation of Section five and eleven of RA 9165.
In Tagbilaran City, also on a Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 3PM, Adrian Mosqueda, 22, single and a resident of Ma, Clara St., Tagbilaran City and his companion, a certain Mario Bacalso, a resident of Carmen, Bohol were arrested by an NBI team led by Atty. Archie Albao.
Mosqueda was nabbed for selling two packets of shabu to a poseur buyer worth P2,000 just across the University of Bohol main gate.
Mosqueda attempted to elude the NBI team together with Bacalso but was caught a few meters from the crime scene and after a search was found with another 2 packets of shabu in his possession.
Albao told DYRD Balita, concerned residents in the area reported the drug activities of Mosqueda that triggered the buy bust operation.
Charges for violation of section five and eleven of Article ll of RA 9165 are set to be filed against Mosqueda while a case for violation of section 15 – visiting a drug den are also set to be filed against Bacalso by the NBI, according to Albao.
