Out of 32 entries for this year’s Bohol Sandugo Song Festival (BSSF 2016), five compositions for each category were selected last Tuesday by a screening panel at the People’s Mansion Conference Hall. Finals night is scheduled on July 21, 2016 at the Bohol Cultural Center.
Finalists for the upbeat category are Pahimangno composed by Nicel Tumulak, Bagyo ug Linog by Arnell Mascariñas, Kupido by Charlven Remolador, Tambayan by Clyde Ebojo and Ikaw Ug Ako by Ralph Maligro.
For the love song/pop ballad are Barotong Papel by Nandy Maniwan, Dili Na by Jumfrey Mark Nicasio, Balik Na Pinangga by Sergie Peter Balaba, Hagit by Engr. Soc Saletrero and Bahandi o Kadungganan by Analiza ‘Glee’ Orcullo.
Novelty category finalists are Nalingaw Ko Sa Bohol by Raul Saletrero, Dear Tatay by Rudy Tutor, Kaniadto ug Karon by John Rey Fuertes, Adunay Forever by Marvin Russel Elaba and Ang Gusto Ko by Maria Luz Brua.
The screening panel was made up of Rene Balbin, Yoyon Ramasola, Engr. Ben Redulla, Atty. John Mitchel Boiser, Boni Quirog, Totsie Escobia and Eddie Orig.
The songfest is a component of the yearly Bohol Sandugo Festival headed by the Sandugo Provincial Coordinator Alfonso R. Damalerio II.
