Tourist influx into the province started to rise even before the summer season when arrivals usually spike as 174,257 tourist entries were recorded from January to March, 2016, the research and statistics department of the Bohol Tourism Office said.
According to Elaiza Palacio of the local tourism office, Koreans still have the highest number of visitors in Bohol while China, USA, France, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, and Canada followed.
In the entire province, Panglao was the most visited.
Tagbilaran City and Anda were ranked second and third, respectively.
Palacio said that even as they continue to consolidate the number of visitors from April to May this year, the department is already expecting that the tally for the period will reach at least 200,000 visitors and surpass the record for January to March. (with reports from Allen Doydora)
