A 26-year-old woman from Barangay Calinggangan, Liloan, Southern Leyte was nailed for selling illegal drugs to an undercover police officer during a buy-bust operation at Purok 4, Barangay Fatima, Ubay at 11:43 P.M., Sunday, June 12, 2016.
According to a report from the Ubay Police Station, Mary Jane Roselis, single and a former saleslady of a videoke bar in said town was caught red handed after handing over to the police-poseur buyer a sachet containing suspected shabu in exchange for P100.00 marked money.
When frisked by police, Roselis was found in possession of seven more sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Another suspected drug pusher, Kenny Bonilla, 27, single and also resident of Ubay was also arrested during the buy-bust operation after he was spotted by the police loitering near the area.
Found in Bonilla’s possession was a medium sized pack stuffed with shabu, according to the police.
Inventory of the seized drugs was witnessed by Fatima Barangay Captain Victoriano Sarsabe and barangay councilor Emilda Vergara and a member of the media.
Police Officer lll Gregorio Aton of the Ubay Police Station, the anti-illegal drug operation headed by Police Senior Inspector Joseph Berondo was in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Bohol.
The two suspected drug pushers are now detained at the Ubay Police lock-up jail awaiting filing of criminal charges for violation of RA 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 for selling and possession of illegal drugs. (Chito M. Visarra with reports from Rey Tutas)
