Baclayon police apprehended a 44-year-old male fugitive who is included in the town’s Lambat-Sibat top 10 wanted list and is facing multiple drug cases and a count of illegal possession of firearm.
The suspect, Jonathan “Atan†Sumagang, was reportedly in hiding until his whereabouts was finally pinpointed by the authorities through the help of tips from concerned citizens.
Sumagang who is a resident of Barangay Landican of the said town was apprehended by the authorities through an arrest warrant issued by Executive Presiding Judge Dionisio R. Calibo of RTC Branch 50, Loay, Bohol.
The suspect is facing cases for violating sections 11 and 12 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 which have bail amounts of P200,000 and P40,000, respectively.
Sumagang is also facing another charge for violating RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act of 2013, which has a recommended bail of 120,000.
He is currently under Baclayon police custody and is held at the lock-up jail of the Baclayon Police Station. (with reports from Allen Doydora)
