Bishop Leonardo Medroso ordained 10 Boholanos in one of the biggest mass ordinations in the history of the Diocese of Tagbilaran on June 14, 2016.

The 10 newly ordained priests will form part of the 175 priests serving the 57 parishes of the diocese including those who are abroad.

Under the list of clergy assignments, seven of the 10 new priests were appointed as parochial vicars, while the two were tasked to serve as apostolate and spiritual director of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Taloto, Tagbilaran City and one was assigned to a parish in Manila.

The new priests are Rommel Anico, 30, Cromwell Ochea, 41 and Richard Pongase, 28, all from Tagbilaran City are now assigned as parochial vicars in the parishes of Dauis, Sagbayan and Antequera respectively.

Jovanni Cortes, 27 is back in the seminary serving as Apostolate Director of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary (IHMS) and Gee Christian Lagria, 35 as parochial vicar of Tubigon. Both are from Lila.

Melvin Naquila, 32 is assigned as Spiritual Director of IHMS and Mario Ringca, 32, parochial vicar of Loboc, both are from Calape.

Christopher Lapez, 29, who hails from Loboc is now the assistant resident priest of Baclayon and Julius Senados from Catigbi-an is the parochial vicar in San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila parish.

Solomon Ostique, 38, was named the parochial vicar of Batuan.

According to the Code of Canon Law, a parochial vicar is a priest who is assigned to assist the parish priest in the pastoral ministry of a parish. (Chito M. Visarra with reports from Rey Tutas)
