So, who else is celebrating their 50th anniversary?
Yesterday, no less than Tagbilaran’s longest- serving city mayor, Atty. Jose V. Torralba and three- termer City Councilor Alberta Co Torralba renewed their marriage vows at the St. Joseph Cathedral, also the venue of their wedding 50 years ago.
Let’s take a look back in time once again thru the Chronicle files on their wedding with the story from this paper on May 29, 1966 written by the late BC society editor Milagros Cal. Here it goes:
Tagbilaran dad to claim bride Saturday
Atty. Jose V. Torralba, councilor of this capital town, will claim Ms. Alberta S. Co as his bride during an afternoon wedding rites on Saturday, June 4, 1966, at the St. Joseph cathedral here.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Co Hock Seng. She finished her commerce studies at the Rafael Palma College and is presently managing her family’s business.
The groom is the son of Tagbilaran Principal and Mrs. Julian Torralba. He obtained bachelor of laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the Rafael Palma College. He is presently teaching in the same school.
Standing as sponsors are Consul Felipe Lamdagan and Mrs Felisa Ocio. Vicente Torralba, the groom’s brother will be the best man and Juanita Milo will be the maid of honor.
