A top drug personality in the watchlist of Carmen Police Station and ranking 10th in the Bohol-wide list died from multiple gunshot wounds, another handiwork of riding in tandem at around 2 p.m. yesterday.
The victim, identified as Reynaldo Guiritan- -also known as “Kanorâ€, a 38-year-old native of Carmen town was travelling along Circumferential Road through M. Torralba St. going to J.A. Clarin St. in Tagbilaran City when the riding in tandem on board a Suzuki Raider motorcycle followed him.
Upon reaching near the corner J.A. Clarin St., the riding in tandem shot him, causing the victim to fall on the roadside.
The victim still managed to get up and tried to flee towards M. Parras St., but the riding in tandem pursued him until they cornered him right at corner of M. Torralba and J.A. Clarin St., and shot him several times.
Stray bullets hit a passer-by, identified as Edgardo Arcenal, a 24-year-old resident of barangay Sto Niño in Getafe, was hit on his left shoulder by stray bullet; and a Ford Ranger vehicle owned by Dr. Edgar D. Pizarras.
The City Police Station received a telephone call from TARSIER 117 at 2:30 p.m. informing about the shooting incident.
City Chief of Police George Vale, the Quick Reaction Team led by SPO1 Fellazar, and the duty crime investigator, PO3 Silvan Palacio, proceeded to the area.
The TARSIER 117 had already brought Guiritan and Arcenal to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital when the police team arrived.         Â
Investigators recovered six cal. 45 empty shells, two empty shells of cal. 9mm, a red baseball cap, a transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and the Honda XRM RS motorcycle registered in the name of Angelita Oraño of Poblacion Norte in Antequera that Guiritan used.
From the crime scene, PO1 Baguil proceeded to the hospital to verify the status of the victims.
The attending physician pronounced Guiritan dead at around 3:57 p.m., while Arcenal was still under observation.
Hospital personnel recovered from the possession of Guiritan, a Sony Cellphone, a yellow lighter, a wallet containing identification cards, a flashlight, a necklace, two rings, two transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu and cash amounting to P43,388.
