The ultimate shopping, dining, and entertainment center in Bohol, Island City Mall marks another milestone today, June 26, celebrating 12 years of changing the Boholanos way of life.

The 12th anniversary celebration of Island City Mall is highlighted by a 3-day Anniversary Sale which started last Friday, June 24, and still going on until today, where discounts of up to 80% are given away on great selections at the Home & Fashion Department and participating tenant shops. Guest celebrities, John Bermundo and Brace Arquiza of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy boyband Gimme 5, will add glitter to the festivities as the teen artists will perform this afternoon at the Activity Center, at 5 o’ clock.

Other anniversary activities happening this week at the Activity Center were the elimination round of ICM Pop Star, last Monday, June 20; Zumba Marathon, June 21; ICM Race and the Grand Finals of ICM Pop Star, June 24; the Grand Finals of Make Your Moves yesterday, June 25; and the  Mannequins Live today at 4 PM.

As part of its corporate social responsibility through the Alay Marcela Foundation, Inc., Island City Mall conducted a community outreach program dubbed as “Bayanihan Para sa Kabataan”, last Wednesday, June 22, at Cogon gym, this city, where hundreds of barangay folks availed themselves of free clinic and feeding program for the children. They also joined the Recycling Workshop handled by the Guhit Pinas-Bohol Chapter artists, and some even took part in the jobs fair to seek employment.

The “Bayanihan Para sa Kabataan” was made possible through the efforts of the City Government of Tagbilaran, c/o Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II; the Barangay Council of Cogon, through Brgy. Captain Philipp Besas; and the local chapter of Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).

Since its inception in 2004, exactly twelve years ago today, Island City Mall continues to elevate more the malling experience to greater heights, and always live up to its moniker as “Lifestyle Destination of Bohol.”

Mall manager, Mario F. Cirujales, said the mall keeps on getting bigger and better to serve the customers more. Just recently, the Phase I of its newly-expanded Supermarket, was opened at the Lower Ground Level, adjacent to the old Supermarket. It has wider and spacious aisles for shopping convenience, with new racks and more computerized check-out counters for fast and efficient service; plus a variety of items on display.

Mr. Cirujales added the mall always brings out the best of everything, and looks forward for more to accomplish and achieve. “But these will not be realized without the help of our valued customers who contributed to the growth and success of the store over the years; the dedication and hardwork of the employees, and the support of the top management,” he concluded.
