The Department of Labor and Employment and businessmen in the province will convene and discuss the Duterte administration’s pending plan to abolish labor contractualization according to a Bohol DOLE official.
A date for the meeting has not been set but DOLE Bohol is ready to implement changes in connection with contractualization once ordered by its head office in Manila, said Gerry Guidaben, officer-in-charge of the local labor office.
Guidaben told DYRD Balita that the assembly will gather owners of both large and small enterprises in the province.
He is optimistic that the local DOLE office will be able to set its meeting with business owners in the province this month.
President Rodrigo Duterte previously issued a stern warning to businessmen implementing labor contractualization, telling company owners that their operations will be shut down if they continue the practice.
For his part, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announced his plan to assign a number of DOLE employees to monitor companies and detect those who violate the order. (Allen Doydora)
