A fugitive whose arrest was ordered by authorities in Cebu City for qualified theft was apprehended by Ubay police Thursday.
The operatives, led by Ubay chief of police Senior Insp. Roland Lavisto, apprehended suspect Joan Gumatay in her residence in Barangay Tipolo of the said town.
The Ubay cops were carrying an arrest warrant issued by Executive Presiding Judge Victor Teves of the Regional Trial Court Branch 54 in Lapu-lapu City and ordering that Gumatay be taken into police custody for qualified theft.
Gumatay had been reportedly hiding in Bohol after authorities in Cebu ordered her arrest.
The suspect is temporarily detained at the Ubay Police Station before she is turned over to Lapu-lapu City authorities. (Willy Maestrado)
