A priest driving a Mitsubishi Pajero with an expired license plates, GNJ 841 and without registration papers hit two motorcycles causing the death of one person and injuries to two others.
The accident happened on Tuesday evening at 10:50PM right across Bohol Wisdom School, Carlos P. Garcia North Avenue, Cogon Distirct, Tagbilaran City.
Fr. Roy Reambomanza who is with the Baclayon Parish, according to the police report, was on the right lane going to Tagbilaran City when he suddenly veered into the left lane hitting the parked motorcycle driven by Lucresio Hoyle.
Hoyle, a resident of Barangay Bulilis, Ubay was on his way to Our Deli Bread Bakeshop. After hitting the parked motorcycle, the Pajero struck the motorcycle who was not far behind driven by Freddie Aquino and his companion, Maricel Ido from Garcia Hernandez.
Aquino, a resident of Barangay Booy was declared dead on arrival at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital while Hoyle and Ido are both confined and recuperating from wounds sustained during the accident.
Fr. Reambomanza who hails from Barangay Masonoy, San Isidro was held for questioning by the police and no charges have been filed.
The priest came from a gathering held the the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Taloto.
Sources told DYRD Balita that the priest took care of all the medical expenses of the victims and will shoulder funeral expenses of Aquino. (Chito M. Visarra and Rey Tutas)
