Governor Edgar Chatto is among those shortlisted to chair or co-chair the Central Visayas Regional Development Council (RDC) 7 amid the group’s reorganization of members for the next three years.
The RDC chair and co-chair will be appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte on September 23, 2016.
Argeo Melisimo, president of the First Consolidated Bank, was also nominated to be among set of officers of the organization which covers the Central Visayas.
Other nominees include Cebu Governor Hilario Davide and Siquijor Governor Zaldy Villa, and from the private sector Kenneth Cobonpue, a renowned furniture designer, and William Liur Jr.
The RDC is comprised of the region’s three governors, city mayors and provincial presidents of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines, directors of national government agencies and representatives from select non-governmental organizations.
The group is tasked to propose big projects in Central Visayas to the National Economic Development Authority for the President’s approval. (Allen Doydora)  Â
