A composite police team on Thursday arrested a man ranked sixth in Panglao’s watchlist of drug personalities through a buy-bust.
Policemen of the Regional Public Safety Battalion 7 and the Panglao police station conducted the joint operation against Eduard Leong, 38, at Barangay Poblacion of the said town.
Leong was riding a motorcycle while he was allegedly dealing illegal drugs when he was spotted by the authorities.
The said police team immediately set up the operation against the suspect which led to the arrest of Leong who reportedly sold suspected shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer.
Operatives recovered three small and one medium-sized packets of suspected shabu from the suspect as he was frisked.
According to Senior Insp. Jomar Pomarejos, chief of the Panglao police, the suspect previously surrendered to authorities confessing his involvement in illegal drug activities.
Pomarejos said that Leong went back to drug peddling after his surrender.
The suspect is now detained at the Panglao police station lock-up jail pending the filing of charges against him. (Willy Maestrado)
