Governor Edgar Chatto asked the public to remain calm and be vigilant in the aftermath of the Davao City bombing.
Chatto said that there is no cause for panic as he made an assurance that security measures are in place, particularly as law enforcers in the province are on red alert status.
He noted that the personnel of the Bohol police and the Philippine Army are conducting security operations round the clock in public places such as bus terminals, seaports, malls, churches and airport.
Meanwhile, law enforcers and soldiers have also set up checkpoints in key areas across the province.
Chatto also directed mayors and barangay captains in coastal towns and villages to secure entry points and immediately report suspicious personalities who enter through Bohol’s shores.
He advised the public to refrain from believing and spreading messages regarding unconfirmed threats.
In the latest meeting of the Central Visayas Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) held in Cebu, Chatto and other representatives tackled security matters in each member-province.
The RPOC’s talk on security was made in accordance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of state of lawless violence in the country following the Davao City blast that claimed the lives of 14 people and left 70 injured. (Allen Doydora)
