Police arrested on Tuesday evening six drug personalities in Maribojoc during a buy-bust operation which led to the confiscation of 90 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P800,000.
Operatives of the Provincial Public Safety Company and the Maribojoc police carried out the joint operation against Garret Pondoc in Barangay San Roque of the said town.
The police authorities also arrested the suspect’s wife, Ma. Victoria Pondoc, and four others who were allegedly engaging in a pot session inside the couple’s residence.
The alleged drug users were identified as Renie Ladera, a resident of Brgy. Nausok in Jagna, Maria Grace Estomata of Brgy. Bingag in Dauis, and Ilyn Laway and Jayson Ciredon of Tagbilaran City.
According to Insp. Panfilo Orpano, Jr., chief of the Maribojoc police, Garret Pondoc is originally from Brgy. Ubujan in Tagbilaran City and has only recently started to take up residence in the said town.
Orpano said that they do not have records and information on Garret Pondoc’s illegal drug operations.
He noted that the suspect and his wife had also temporarily lived in Dauis and that the couple’s operations involved moving from one town to another.
The Pondocs allegedly did not stay in one place for long periods of time to avoid suspicion from police.
However, the PPSC had finally received information on Pondoc prompting the policemen to set up the anti-drug operation against him. (Allen Doydora)
