The Inabanga police on Wednesday rounded up three drug personalities in two buy-bust operations.
Police identified one of the suspects as Efren Suarez, 48, who is included in the town’s watch list of drug personalities.
Suarez was reportedly selling drugs and spotted by personnel of the Inabanga police station prompting them to conduct the buy bust against the suspect.
The suspect was arrested by police after he sold suspected shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop.
Police recovered from Suarez’ possession four packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
According to Senior Insp. Marcus Lopez, Inbanga police chief, the suspect previously surrendered through Oplan Tokhang and admitted his involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Authorities are preparing to file against the jailed suspect charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165.
At 8 p.m. on the same day of Suarez’ arrest, the Inabanga police conducted another buy-bust operation. This time, against Hermes Melicor, 37.
Melicor, a resident of Brgy. Badaing of the said town, was allegedly seen selling illegal drugs by intelligence officers of the Inabanga police.
Police then conducted the buy-bust which also resulted in the arrest of Melicor’s companion Renato Asdolo, 28.
Melicor reportedly noticed he was transacting with a police during the buy-bust causing the suspect to run and evade arrest.
However, he was cornered inside a house where police found Asdolo.
Police confiscated four packs of suspected shabu from Melicor while Asdolo reportdely yielded three packs of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Lopez said that both suspects also surrendered through Oplan Tokhang. (Willy Maetsrado)Â
