Five robbers, including two minors, who were not content with stealing cellphone and cash from a male makeup artist also robbed the same victim of his clothes on Saturday dawn along J. Borja in the city.
The victim, 19-year-old Arnold Namoc, a resident of Cansibao, Valencia, said that he was walking to school together with the suspect when four men suddenly cornered him.
According to Namoc, the suspect, who introduced himself as Mark, led him to the basketball court of the Holy Spirit School where two other men approached and pushed the victim to the ground.
One of the suspects then pointed a knife at Namoc and threatened to kill him, prompting the victim to give them his belongings including a cellphone worth P5,000 and P200 cash.
Before the robbers left, one of the suspects demanded for Namoc’s jacket and shorts which he immediately took off and handed over.
Passers-by who saw Namoc helped him and called the Tagbilaran City police which immediately deployed personnel of its theft and robbery section.
Police then found and rounded up along Maria Clara St., Tagbilaran City two minors allegedly involved in the robbery.
Namoc positively identified the two suspects who were put in the custody of the city police.
On the same day at 9 p.m., two masked men robbed the Triple A Travelers Inn which is owned by city Councilor Engr. Vicente Polinar and located in Barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran City.
The suspects carrying bladed weapons reportedly went inside the office of the said inn and threatened the cashier identified as John Polinar, 17.
The two men were able to take away P2,000 stashed inside a drawer and sped off on board a black motorcycle. (Rey Tutas)
