Thousands of loyal subscribers of Globe were grossly frustrated due to the  delayed sending of text messages during the past few days.

The affected areas are within the city, particularly in the downtown area.

It was learned  in  a check by the Chronicle with Globe that  two of Globe’s big cell sites in the city were down, one at the just demolished old building of Holy Name University (HNU) near Bohol Quality complex and the other cell site at the Metro Center Hotel which is undergoing renovation.

Globe officials said this will just be temporary. However, no date was mentioned as to when operation will be normalized.

However, they advised their subscribers that its faster to send text messages when at GSM, and not on LTE, 2G or 3G mode while the cell sites are still down.
