The Sangguninag Panlalawigan (SP) issued an appeal to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) requesting for a mobile clinic to serve residents of far-flung areas in Bohol.

The request was officially relayed through a resolution authored by Board Member Jade Bautista during the SP’s regular session on Friday.

Bautista, chair of the SP’s committee on health and public sanitation, said that the PCSO is ready to extend aid by providing the mobile clinic.

The mobile clinic will be replete with medical equipment such as an x-ray machine, tools and devices for dental operations and even surgery.

According to Bautista, the initiative is intended to save residents of various towns from the hassle of travelling to Tagbilaran CIty for medical attention.

The SP has observed that several areas in Bohol do not have access to adequate healthcare.

Meanwhile, the SP is also mulling to provide medical equipment to Barangay Health Workers, the initial healthcare providers in some villages. (Rey Tutas)
