A man was killed after the tricycle he was driving overshot the paved path of an under construction road in Maribojoc on Monday.
According to police, the vehicle’s sidecar went beyond the unfinished road causing the tricycle to tumble on a slope and crash at around 9:20 p.m.
Police said that the driver, identified as 26-year-old Rudy Batoon, a resident of Brgy Lagtangon, Maribojoc, immediately succumbed to injuries.
Batoon sustained multiple injuries all over his body.
His head smashed into concrete while he was also pinned down by the ill-fated tricycle, police said.
The victim was reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, residents of the area blamed several officials in the town as they allegedly left the road unfinished without putting a warning signage in dangerous stretches of the thoroughfare.
Rocks are also reportedly scattered in the area which make driving in the said road more difficult, residents said.
There had been several vehicular accidents in Bohol which were caused by the lack of warning signs in roads that are still under construction. (Allen Doydora)
