Boholanos will pay their last respects to the late former Gov. Rolando G. Butalid who will be laid to final rest at the Dampas Catholic Cemetery tomorrow afternoon. He served as governor from 1978 to 1986.
His remains will be transferred to the Bohol Cultural Center at 12:30pm today for the public to pay their last respect prior his interment tomorrow.  Â
The 85-year old former governor will be given tribute by the provincial government of Bohol on Thursday, 9am at the Bohol Cultural Center. To deliver their eulogies are Gov. Edgar Chatto, Vice Gov. Dionisio Balite and former Board Member Billy Tongco.
Butalid who was elected as the city’s second mayor in 1972 will likewise be extended honors by the city government of Tagbilaran this afternoon during another necrological rite with former Mayor Joe Torralba, Mayor Baba Yap, and former Gov, David Tirol as eulogists.Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso will read the resolution of condolences of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
His remains will be brought to the St. Joseph Cathedral noontime tomorrow for the requiem mass at 1:00pm.Â
Butalid who was one of the pillars of the Bohol Jaycees will be honored with a short necrological service after the mass with JCs Roland Inting, Joe Torralba and Donald Sevilla to deliver their eulogies. The bereaved wife, Enriquieta Borja Butalid and eldest son, Dominic will speak in behalf of the family.
Interment will follow at the Dampas Catholic Cemetery.
