Tagblilaran City port personnel will start to occupy the new administration building of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) starting this week.
James Gantalao, Tagbilaran CIty port manager, said that P53 million pesos was spent to construct the fully air-conditioned structure which is located right beside the new passenger terminal building.
He told DYRD Balita that the installation of a water system and power supply has recently been completed and that only a few requirements are left before they could transfer to the new facility.
Port authorities are starting to adopt a quality management system as part of the efforts to obtain ISO (International Standard Organization) certification for the city pier amid the rehabilitation of the quake-hit facility.
Gantalao also said that the city port beefed up security measures by implementing an ID system in operational areas or inside the pier’s second gate.
This was implemented to better monitor the area and prevent untoward incidents within Bohol’s largest port. (Rey Tutas)Â
