The subject of a drug raid in Calape on Thursday escaped police but his companion, also a suspected drug pusher, was unable to flee and was arrested.
Police said that the anti-drug operation was set up against alleged drug dealer Narciso Paredes Jr., a resident of Brgy, Calunasa, Calape.
Paredes reportedly noticed the incoming operatives who were about to serve a search warrant prompting the suspect to quickly flee his home.
Left behind in the area, however, was one 24-year-old Venerado Calotes, a resident of said village, who is also an alleged drug pusher.
Police said that Paredes also left two packs of shabu inside his house.
According to Senior Insp. Cresente Gurea, chief of the Calape police, Paredes surrendered and admitted to involvement in drug activities under Oplan Tokhang.
Paredes will be charged for violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Wellie Maetrado)
