A tricycle driver was shot dead by an unidentified motorcycle-riding gunman in Clarin at 6 a.m. on Friday.
Police identified the victim as Antonio Jaganas, 58, a resident of Brgy. Bacani of said town.
Based on initial Clarin police investigation, Jaganas was waiting for passengers outside a market in said village when the assailant on board his motorcycle stopped beside the victim and immediately shot him.
Jaganas sustained a bullet wound through his left chest and an exit wound in the upper part of his right rib which caused his instantaneous death.
According to police, they are looking at a longstanding feud between the victim and another party as primary motive behind Jaganas’ killing.
Police said that Jaganas six years ago figured in an accident in Tubigon which resulted in the death of a man who authorities did not identify.
Jaganas who stood firm in his assertion that the accident was not of his doing reportedly refused to extend financial aid to the victim’s family.
However, investigators continue to gather information on other possible motives and leads on the gunman. (Allen Doydora)
