The three-day grand celebration of the Diocesan Diamond Jubilee is all set next week with various activities being lined up.
A Holy Mass will kick off the 75th year anniversary of the Diocese of Tagbilaran to be officiated by Bishop Leonardo Y. Medroso, the outgoing bishop who will be celebrating his natal day on Sunday, 6:00 a.m.
Hundreds of less fortunate residents will be the beneficiaries of a medical mission dubbed as “Breaking Bread Through Service” set to start at 8 o’clock in the morning at Plaza Rizal, just across the Cathedral grounds.
The activity is to fulfill the sharing of Christ’s light to the poor, the sick, the homeless, the hungry and the prisoners.
The first day will be capped with the honoring for Bishop Medroso at the Bohol Tropics at 7:00pm./
The second day of the observance is the reunion of Boholano bishops, priests, religious and lay evangelizers. Venue of the event os thje Buon Pastore Evacuation and Training Center at the IHMS compound
To keynote the grand reunion is Rev. Fr. Antonio Pernia,.
The main guest is Archbishop Bernardito C. Auza, apostolic nuncio who is the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations.
A recognition of Boholano priests, religious and lay evangelizers will highlight the day’s activities.
A testimonial dinner will be held at the Dagohoy Ballroom of Bohol Tropics Resort to cap the second day of the celebration.
The main event will be on the Diamond Jubilee Eucharistic Celebration on Nov. 8, 10:00am at the St. Joseph Cathedral with Bishop Leonardo Medroso as the main celebrant. A diana will start the day’s celebration at 4:30am.
A luncheon and thanksgiving program will be held at the Holy Name University gymnasium while a BEC-GSK Barrio Fiesta will be held at the Cathedral grounds.
A fireworks display courtesy of the Bohol Chronicle Radio Corp will end the 75th year anniversary celebration at the St. Joseph Cathedral at 8:00pm.
