Ronnie Dayan, the former driver, bodyguard and lover of former Justice Secretary and now Senator Leila De Lima, is now in Pangasinan under the protective custody of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office.
The PPPO headquarters in Lingayen is now under tight security since Dayan and his escort of heavily-armed policemen arrived here at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, direct from the House of Representatives where he gave his testimony before the Committee on Justice looking into the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs inside the National Bilibid Prisons.
It was Acting Police Provincial Director Roland Oliver Lee who picked up Dayan at the House of Representatives on order of PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” De la Rosa.
Upon his arrival in a convoy from Manila, Dayan was given a medical check up with the help of the Pangasinan Provincial Health Office and spent the night at the office of Police Provincial Director Lee.
A report said that Dayan has requested to visit his family in Barangay Dalangiring, Urbiztondo, a request which is yet being evaluated by Acting Provincial Director Lee.
The Pangasinan police arrested Dayan Monday in San Juan, La Union after two months of hiding in a mountainous barangay in the town of San Gabriel.
He declined the offer of some congressmen for him to remain under their protective custody and instead opted to go home to his family in Urbiztondo. (PNA)
