There are two more Boholanos who are holding top positions under the Duterte administration, bringing the total to six.
Long time diplomatic envoy lawyer Frank “Jojo” Cimafranca, son of the late Assemblyman Eutiquio Cimafranca of this city was appointed as assistant secretary of the Consular Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) while former PNP Provincial Director Arturo Evangelista is the assistant secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC). He hails from Ubay town.
The two was added to the list of Boholanos occupying sensitive positions in the administration of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
On top of them is former Maribojoc Mayor Leoncio “Jun” Evasco who is the Cabinet Secretary. He is a top adviser of the President tracing back their friendship when he served as Davao City administrator of then Mayor Duterte.
Evasco who is known for his effective leadership as town chief executive can be considered to run for a top elective position in the province during the next election. He could easily be picked by Pres. Duterte to run either for governor or congressman of the first district. He served as Duterte’s campaign manager during the last presidential election.
However, in recent interviews, Sec. Evasco told the Chronicle he is comfortable working with the President at Malacañang as Cabinet secretary while he vowed to always consider Bohol in the development plans of the Duterte administration.
Former senior economist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Ernesto Pernia is now the Executive Director of the National Economic Development Administration (NEDA). Pernia, son of the late Dr. Juan Pernia of this city is the chairman emeritus of the economics department of  the University of the Philippines.
The chief of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) is Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad. He is also the executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. Jalad is a retired general of the Phil. Army and former commander of the 5th infantry division and 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade.
The sixth Boholano who is likewise holding a key post in the Duterte administration is Vicente “Vic” Milano from Alburquerque town. He is the administrator of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA).
