A man who yielded packets of suspected shabu was caught with a minor inside a lodging house by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at Penaflor St., Brgy. Taloto, Tagbilaran City on Wednesday.

NBI authorities identified the suspect as Ronald Sampilingan, a 38-year-old married resident of Barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran City.

According to NBI Bohol executive officer Atty. Arcelito Albao, they received a call at past 12:00 a.m. from the guard of the lodging house who reported Sampilingan as he checked in with the 17-year-old female.

NBI agents immediately responded to the report and were able to catch the suspect as he was about to engage in sexual intercourse with the minor.

The operatives also confiscated shabu and drug paraphernalia which were ready for use on top of a table inside the rented room.

A total of three packets of suspected shabu were found in Sampilingan’s possession.

Sampilingan was handcuffed and arrested while the minor was sent home.

Sampilingan is currently jailed at the detention facility of the NBI while charges for illegal drug possession and child abuse are being prepared against him. (Allen Doydora)
