Tubigon police arrested on Thursday two men wanted for allegedly raping a mentally ill woman.
The police identified the arrested suspects as Arnel Lofranco, a 28-year-old resident of Brgy. San Isidro, Inabanga, and 20-year-old Arnel Ligotan, a native of Surigao del Norte who is living in Calape.
Police said that the suspects were located and nabbed in Calape through a hot pursuit conducted by the Tubigon authorities led by P/Chief Insp. Almirante Bacayo.
The suspects were positively identified by the victim who reported to police that she was raped by the two men at 2:00 a.m. on November 24 at a quarry site in Brgy. Pinayagan, Tubigon.
Charges for violating Republic Act 8353, otherwise known as the Anti-Rape Law, were already filed against the suspects on Tuesday. (Allen Doydora)
