A security guard of a bar along Graham Ave., Tagbilaran City accidentally shot himself after being beat up by four men on Thursday night.

The victim, Juvanni Gaumba, a 36-year-old resident of Brgy. San Isidro, Duero, was rushed to a hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound in his left shoulder.

Reports indicated that Gaumba was on-duty at a bar in Olman’s Plaza at 6:30 p.m. when four men arrived and immediately attacked him.

According to police, the suspects tried to take away Gaumba’s pistol while beating him up.

As Gaumba struggled to keep his gun, the firearm accidentally went off with the fired bullet hitting his shoulder.

The suspects then reportedly fled towards Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City as Gaumba fell down.

Following the scuffle, the victim was assisted by a foreign national who took him to the hospital where he continues to recuperate.

Police said that two of the suspects identified as Daryl Kim Victor, 28, and Juner Villamala, 25, both residents of Purok Basak, Taloto, have been apprehended.

The authorities continue to conduct an investigation on the case and locate the two other suspects. (Allen Doydora)
